Fixing your Smile

Posted .

Chances are, if you’re like most Americans, you have cosmetic problems with your smile. From stained to chipped teeth, our team here at First Dental of Bluffton has seen it all, and Dr. Charles W. Hobart II has the expertise to help you choose the best procedure in order to restore your smile to its former brilliance.

A good smile isn’t hard to achieve; in fact, there are two incredibly simply processes you can undergo. Let’s take a look at what those are.

Dental bonding

If your teeth only have very small flaws – like tiny chips – then Dr. Charles W. Hobart II will likely recommend a dental bonding procedure. Bonding is a very simple process. What happens is a composite resin is place directly on your damaged tooth (our team uses Beautiful Flow Plus), then molded to fit the shape of your tooth. After the appearance is just right, the resin is hardened and polished, giving you a long-lasting fix to your smile.

Veneers

These are some of the more popular options for those with more severe tooth issues, especially if you have deep enamel stains. Veneers are wafer-thin shells made from porcelain cemented over the surface of your teeth.

Veneers are a great way to immediately restore your smile’s appearance without undergoing any whitening treatments. Best of all, if you practice great oral health, your veneers will last as long as you do, and retain their color as well.
